Chasing a phantom offset for 2 hours on a simple wall panel layout
I spent nearly 3 hours last Tuesday trying to figure out why my wall panel drawing was showing a 3/4 inch gap between studs 4 and 5, only to realize I had accidentally snapped a grid line off by 1/16th of an inch on layer 23. The weird part is I kept rechecking my dimensions and never thought to just zoom in and look at the actual line position because it looked fine from a distance. Has anyone else wasted a whole afternoon on a drafting mistake that was literally one tiny grid snap off?

Same thing happened to me last month with a foundation plan. Took forever because I was checking everything except the one thing that was actually wrong.

Three hours though? I mean, I get being frustrated but is that really the end of the world. You caught it eventually, right? In the grand scheme of things a three hour detour on one panel layout doesn't sound like a huge deal. I've spent longer than that just trying to decide if I want coffee or tea in the morning and nobody calls that a crisis. It's just part of the job, you learn to double check your grid lines from now on and move on. Nobody died, nobody lost money on the whole project, so why beat yourself up over it?
