Tried a $20 pegboard liner, my $8 cork roll won the bench top battle
Last month I laid both down on my 4x8 workbench to test drilling and paint spills, the cork just absorbed everything while the liner slid around. Has anyone else ditched fancy mats for cork tiles from the dollar store?

Cork soaks up paint and oil which turns it into a gross sponge that never really dries out, so you just traded a sliding mat for a smelly science project. Give it a month of spills and you'll be scraping that stuff off with a chisel.
