Struggled between plywood and MDF for my workbench top in St. Louis

Went with 3/4 inch birch plywood instead of MDF because I drop tools all the time and MDF dents too easy. It was $20 more per sheet but after 6 months of daily use, no dings or swelling around my vice mounts - anyone else find MDF just doesn't hold up?

Yeah MDF does fine until you sneeze near it with a wet rag in your hand. Birch plywood was the right call even if it stung the wallet a bit.
