Shoutout to the level I dropped behind my workbench 2 years ago

I spent a whole Saturday trying to get my bench top perfectly flat. I kept tweaking the legs and getting frustrated because the bubble was always off. Finally gave up and used my phone level app, then realized my old 4 foot level had slid behind the bench during a move. It took me like 6 hours of messing around to figure out the problem was just a missing tool. Has anyone else lost a basic tool for way longer than they want to admit?

@evan_jenkins that tape measure story hits close to home. Lost my favorite speed square for almost a year, found it wedged between some old 2x4s in the scrap pile. Funny how those missing tools just turn up when you stop looking, like socks in the dryer or something.

Oh man, I feel this pain. I spent three hours looking for my 25 foot tape measure last spring only to find it hanging on a nail in the garage the whole time. I must have walked past it twenty times. My workbench is currently half an inch off at one corner because I gave up trying to level it with a stack of playing cards. At least you found your level eventually, that's a win in my book.
