Unpopular opinion: deep cleaning your phone's charging port first beats buying a new cable 9 times out of 10
I was about to drop $20 on a new lightning cable at Target last week but grabbed a toothpick and tweezers to dig out the pocket lint from my iPhone 11's port and now it charges like new, anyone else found that fix way more common than a broken cable?

I used to just buy new cables like it was nothing but now I check the port first every single time.

I read somewhere that most people who think their phone is "dying" actually just have a clogged charging port, did you see that study? It's wild how much pocket junk gets packed in there over time. I swear my old Android used to stop charging completely and I'd be ready to toss it, but a toothpick always saved the day. The lint gets so compressed it turns into basically a little brick of crap blocking the connection. Cables usually outlast the phone itself, it's the ports that get nasty.
