Tried replacing my laptop battery and it went about as well as you'd expect

Ordered a new battery for my 2017 Dell XPS 13 from a seller on eBay last month. Popped open the back panel just fine but the connector was stuck so bad I ended up bending two pins on the motherboard. Now the laptop won't charge at all and I'm looking at a $150 repair bill at a shop in Portland. Has anyone else had luck with a different method for getting those ribbon cables loose?

Use a plastic spudger next time. You can get a set for like 5 bucks on Amazon. The metal tools wreck boards. That XPS connector is a pain, I usually wiggle it side to side real gentle before pulling.

Bent pins on the motherboard? No way.
