That $90 screen replacement kit turned into a nightmare
I was in my kitchen trying to fix my phone screen last Sunday and the adhesive strip got all tangled up. The backlight cable ripped when I was closing it back up, and now the whole thing is just a black brick. I followed every YouTube guide step by step but those tiny ribbon cables are impossible to handle. Has anyone else had their screen repair go completely sideways like this?

Oh man, I used to be the guy who swore by doing phone repairs myself. Thought it was a money saver and honestly kind of fun. Then I tried to swap a battery on an old Samsung and the adhesive had basically fused the back glass on. Spent two hours with a heat gun and a suction cup, cracked the glass anyway, and ended up paying a shop twice what I would have just to fix my mess. So yeah, your story makes total sense to me now. Those tiny ribbon cables are basically designed to be impossible for normal people to handle.

Whoa whoa whoa, let's not act like it's brain surgery or something, @williams90. Is a cracked back glass really worth a full-on crisis? I mean yeah, modern phones have glued everything together like a puzzle box, but what doesn't these days? You're making it sound like you tried to disarm a bomb. Half the fun is messing up and learning the hard way. The real question is did that heat gun get you a cool story or just a bill?
