Rant: Cleaned my laptop fans after 4 years and the before/after was disgusting

I finally opened up my old Dell to clean the dust out of the fans last night. The before looked like a fuzzy gray carpet had grown in there, and after it actually runs quiet instead of sounding like a tiny leaf blower. Anyone else put off basic maintenance way too long just because you didn't want to deal with opening the case?

Did the same thing to my old HP last month, felt like I was defusing a bomb made of dust bunnies.

Dust bunnies is generous, mine was more like dust bricks.
