Question about replacing a laptop battery vs getting a new one
My 4 year old Dell XPS started dying after about 30 minutes off the charger last month. I was torn between a $60 replacement battery from Amazon or spending $800 on a new laptop. I went with the battery swap because I figured it was worth a shot. Took me maybe 20 minutes with a plastic spudger and a YouTube video, honestly easier than I expected. It runs for about 5 hours now like when it was new. Has anyone else tried the battery route on an older machine and regretted not just upgrading?

Hey at least you didn't spend $800 just to find out you hate the new laptop's keyboard layout. For $60 that's a solid win.

Solid win" might be pushing it a bit, $60 for a burrito and disappointment feels more like a draw. But yeah, at least you didn't drop real money on a whole laptop you can't return. Small victories, I guess.
