I used to think you needed a full kit to replace a phone battery
Someone on here told me last month that using a hair dryer for 90 seconds on low heat works just as well as a heat gun to loosen the adhesive. I tried it on my old Galaxy S9 and it saved me buying a $40 tool I'd only use once. Has anyone else found a simple swap for a pricey repair tool?

Love finding cheap hacks for expensive problems.

Respectfully @janab82, cheap hacks can backfire when you least expect it. Started using a flathead screwdriver as a pry tool once and slipped, gouging a line across the motherboard. Sometimes spending a few bucks on the right tool saves you from a costly repair later, don't you think?

Totally agree about finding cheap hacks. I used a guitar pick instead of a plastic spudger to pry open a laptop case once.
