Burned $140 on a logic board repair kit that didn't fix my phone

My iPhone 11 wouldn't charge past 1%, so I ordered a logic board repair kit from eBay for $140 and spent a whole Saturday swapping parts. Turns out the issue was just a corroded charging port flex cable, which I could've replaced for $9 after watching a 5 minute video. Has anyone else got burned by those fancy 'repair boards' when the real fix was way more basic?
