A buddy told me to use isopropyl alcohol to clean my laptop fan
My friend swore by using isopropyl alcohol to clean out a dusty laptop fan, said it dries fast and won't short anything. I did it and now the fan is rattling like crazy even though I let it dry for two hours. Did I mess up by not using a different cleaner or is there a trick to getting it to spin quiet again?

@adam675 Rattling sounds are part of the deal with older cars. That's just character. You learn to read them, know which ones mean trouble and which ones are just the car breathing. A consistent rattle that doesn't change pitch or get worse? That's just vibration, find the loose screw or the plastic trim and move on. The real scary sounds are the grinding ones, the knocking ones, the ones that come with a new smell. Rattling is just the car saying hello.
