Why does nobody talk about how bad those wire management sleeves are for cable routing?
Last Wednesday I spent 6 hours rebuilding my desk setup and ditched the black mesh sleeves everyone swears by. They trap heat and make my cables feel stiff after a month. I switched to individual velcro ties and split loom tubing for the thick stuff. My buddy Dave said sleeves are fine, but he also runs his PC with the side panel off. Has anyone else found a better way to handle the mess behind a standing desk without using those sleeves?

oh man, don't even get me started on those sleeves. i bought a three pack off amazon two years ago and they're still sitting in my closet because i gave up after one try. my cables ended up looking like a snake that ate a bunch of rats, all lumpy and weird. i switched to those little velcro cable ties you can buy in bulk, and honestly my desk looks less like a tangled mess and more like organized chaos now. plus when i have to move my standing desk up and down, the individual ties let everything breathe and move without pulling loose. is your buddy Dave the same guy who thinks cable management is just closing the side panel and hoping for the best?

Nah Dave is the same guy who uses twist ties from bread bags. He saw me with my velcro strips and was like "why would you buy those when you can just use these for free." Dude had a dozen cables running behind his desk all held together with a single bread tie that snapped off after two weeks. I keep a roll of that adhesive velcro and just cut off what I need. Works way better than the 3M tape strips because you can undo and redo them 50 times before they stop sticking.

@morgan_butler the snake thing is way too accurate lol. Nobody mentions how bad sleeves muffle fan noise from your PC if you run any cables near the intake side.
