The day my desk top split in two, sort of
Back in 2019 I built a desk out of two solid core doors, saved maybe $150 over buying a real top. One hot July afternoon I heard a crack and the seam right down the middle let go. Turns out I never let the wood acclimate in the garage, just slapped the finish on within a week. I rebuilt it with a single sheet of 3/4 plywood and steel legs from a scrap yard. Has anyone else had a project fail months later due to skipping prep?
