My buddy's desk stiffener tip made things worse, what gives?
So my friend Dave, he builds custom desks for a living, told me to skip the steel cross brace under my 6 foot birch top and just use two layers of 3/4 ply glued together. I did that, spent 40 bucks on extra ply, and after a month the middle still sags almost a quarter inch. The glue didn't bond right where I clamped it, leaving a gap near the monitor stand. Has anyone else had layered tops fail on them, or is my clamping method just trash?
