I finally built my own desk and the legs took 4 hours longer than I planned

Everyone says to just grab prefab legs from Amazon and call it a day, but I wanted actual stability for my monitor setup. I spent $60 on extra lumber and a borrowed miter saw, and it took me 6 hours across a Saturday instead of the 2 hours some DIY video claimed. Has anyone else found that building your own legs is way more work than the top surface itself?

That $60 extra lumber part really hit me... I used to think legs were the easy part until I tried making my own a few months back and realized how much time the joinery actually eats up.

Totally agree on joinery time, I spent a whole weekend just cutting tenons for one table.
