Stop using thermal paste like it's frosting on a cake

I fixed my PS5 overheating by just using a small pea sized dot instead of covering the whole chip. For months my fan was screaming like a jet engine during Warzone. I tried new paste three times with the same crap results. Finally watched a modder on YouTube who showed a thermal camera and the excess paste was actually insulating the heat. Next try with a tiny dot dropped my temps by 8 degrees C immediately. Anyone else been putting way too much goop on their console chips?

Noticed the same thing with my car's oil changes, people overthinking fixes and making things worse.

Ngl I used to be all about watching those DIY videos and trying every hack before changing my oil. But @blake_black47 calling out the owner's manual made me realize how much wasted time and money I spent on stuff that didn't help. Now I just follow the book and my car's running way smoother.

@abby308 totally agree, what worked for me was sticking to the owner's manual and ignoring all the YouTube advice.
