Spent 2 hours trying to get a transparent shell on my Switch Lite. Missed the stupid power button ribbon cable latch.
Got a cheap clear shell from Amazon for 15 bucks and watched three tutorials. Ended up prying the latch off with a toothpick after my tiny screwdriver slipped and I nearly lost the spring. Anyone got a reliable tool for these tiny ribbon cable locks or do you just use tweezers and hope?

Honestly, I watched a video from that guy TronicsFix or whatever where he talked about how these ribbon cable latches are actually designed to be opened with a fingernail from the side, not pried from the top. That changed everything for me because I kept breaking those little buggers. For your switch lite that power button one is a monster though, I seriously think Nintendo made it extra tiny to mess with us. Another trick is to use a plastic spudger from a phone repair kit, they are cheap on Amazon and way less likely to slip than a metal screwdriver on those things. I ended up buying a magnetic mat to catch springs after I lost one for three days and found it stuck to my fridge magnet. So yeah, the right shaped plastic tool and a steady hand is about all you can do, but the fingernail trick on the latch hinge side really works.

The fingernail trick is a lifesaver until you've got fingernails chewed down to the nub like mine. I've resorted to using a guitar pick for the bigger ribbon cables and just praying on the tiny ones. Same boat with the toothpick method, felt like a caveman trying to perform surgery. That magnetic mat idea is genius though, my missing spring is probably living in my vacuum cleaner by now. Is there a specific brand of plastic spudger you'd recommend or is the generic 10 pack fine?
