PSA: Finding out my GameCube shell swap was using the wrong screws the whole time
I was talking to a guy at a retro gaming meetup last Saturday who builds custom portable Wiis, and he mentioned that 4mm screws strip out the 3D printed brackets on most aftermarket shells. I checked my blue GameCube shell I put together 6 months ago and sure enough, three screw posts are already cracked from those cheap screws. Has anyone else dealt with finding the right hardware for shell swaps just from trial and error?

Wrong screws the whole time" yeah that's just my whole life story in four words. Guess I'll add "stripped posts" to the list of things I pretend not to notice.

3 self-tapping screws and a 20 minute argument with my husband later, I'm just saying sometimes those stripped posts are the universe telling you to take a break and buy a new thing. @jennifer_mitchell53 is it really that bad or are you just tired of the project?
