Had to pick between a transparent shell and a wood grain one for my Switch
I was stuck deciding between an Atomic Purple style clear shell and a wood grain look for my Switch mod. Went with the wood grain because it seemed more unique and I'm glad I did, it looks great with the dark joycons I already had. But man, the install took me almost 4 hours because those ribbon cables are super fragile and I snapped one latch off. Anyone else struggle more than expected with their first shell swap?

oh man i feel you so hard on that ribbon cable struggle. i did a clear shell swap for my gameboy advance sp a while back and those tiny little ribbon latches are the absolute worst, i cracked one of the plastic clips clean off and had to hold it down with a bit of tape for like two weeks before i got the nerve to try and fix it. the wood grain sounds sick though, that's a way cooler choice than just going with atomic purple like everyone and their mom does. i bet it looks real clean with the dark joycons, kinda gives me retro console vibes in the best way. four hours sounds rough but honestly that's about what it took me too, idk why they make those things so delicate.

Tape and prayers, the true backup plan for anyone brave enough to crack open a console.
