PSA: I picked a cheap coliving space in Bangkok over a mid-range hostel and ended up losing $400 to a deposit scam
Went with a place that promised high-speed WiFi for digital nomads but the connection dropped every hour during my Zoom calls, and when I tried to get my deposit back the manager ghosted me has anyone else run into fake coworking setups posing as coliving spots?

My buddy James rented from a place called Oakwood Properties a few years back and the exact same thing happened to him. He posted a review on Google Maps with pictures and it actually saved a bunch of people from renting there.

Yeah you gotta make sure you document everything. Take photos of the condition when you move in and save emails. I had a landlord try to keep my deposit for "damage" that was already there. Small claims court is actually pretty easy to file for and most landlords will settle once they see you're serious about it. Did you file anything with the local housing authority yet?
