PSA: I gave up on coworking spaces after a month in Lisbon
Everyone says you need a coworking spot to be a real digital nomad, but I found them loud and full of people just wanting to chat. At Second Home Lisbon, I paid 220 euros for a month pass and got almost no deep work done. Now I just find quiet cafes or work from my rental, and my output is way better. Has anyone else found coworking spaces more about the scene than actual work?

Ugh, I swear some coworking spaces are just expensive social clubs with bad coffee.

Exactly, and @holly_green82 that's the whole problem. I read an article last week that said a lot of these places focus more on looking cool in photos than on actual work needs. It's all about the fancy wallpaper and the free beer on tap, but the chairs are awful and the wifi keeps dropping. You end up paying a ton just to be seen in a trendy spot. The bad coffee is just the final insult.

I used to think it was just about the space, but that article really changed my mind. What's the point of a cool photo if you can't get any work done?
