Met a guy in Chiang Mai who changed how I think about coworking spaces

I always thought expensive coworking was a scam until I talked to a developer at Punspace who said the $200 a month was worth it just to leave his room and meet people. He showed me his income doubled after 6 months of networking there. Has anyone else had a coworking space pay off like that?

...and you're just gonna take that one guy's word as proof? I mean, sure, $200 a month isn't nothing, but I've seen people drop that on a coworking membership and still spend all day staring at their laptop in the corner. Networking sounds great on paper, but in my experience, it's usually just a bunch of people trying to sell each other stuff. I knew a freelancer in Bali who paid for a fancy desk for six months and barely talked to anyone. Your mileage may vary, but I'd want to see more than one success story before I start calling it a game changer.

Totally agree, I dropped cash on a fancy desk for months and got maybe two actual conversations out of it.
