Lost 2 hours in a Chiang Mai cafe because the wifi was too good
I planned to finally do that video edit at a spot near Nimman, but the connection was so fast I fell down a rabbit hole of old nomad vlogs for like 2 hours. It made me realize I need to pick work spots with mediocre internet on purpose, otherwise I just waste the day. Does anyone else deliberately seek out slower cafes just to stay focused, or am I the only weirdo doing this?
Have you tried just setting a timer instead of hunting for bad wifi? I used to do the same thing in Da Nang, bouncing between cafes based on signal strength, and it never worked. What actually helped was picking one spot and putting my phone in airplane mode while keeping the laptop online. The wifi stays fast for uploads but the rabbit hole is closed. Now I get a full edit done in one sitting, usually right there on Nimman Soi 5. Also helps to sit facing a wall instead of the street, way fewer things to look at when you get stuck on a hard cut.
