Just lost $150 on a coworking space in Chiang Mai that lied about their internet speed
I paid for a month upfront at this place that claimed 500mbps fiber but it drops to dial-up every afternoon around 2pm. Has anyone else dealt with coworking spaces faking their wifi specs in Thailand?

...and I had a friend who fell for this exact same thing in Bangkok. She paid for a month at this place near Thong Lo that bragged about their "business class fiber" but every day at 3pm it slowed to a crawl. Turns out they were sharing a single home connection across 40 desks. She ended up working from a Starbucks down the street for the rest of the month. It's such a common scam here, I don't trust any coworking space until I see a speed test done in person at random times.

Well I've actually had the opposite experience entirely. I've been using coworking spaces in Bangkok for about three years now and the one I'm at in Ekkamai has been rock solid even during peak afternoon hours. The problem isn't the coworking spaces themselves but people not doing their homework before signing up. I always run a speed test on my own laptop before committing and I ask to see their actual fiber contract not just their marketing materials. The good ones will show you their provider agreement and let you test it at 3pm on a Friday. If they hesitate or make excuses that's when you walk away.
