Just learned that over half of all digital nomads are over 40

I was reading a report from a group called MBO Partners last week, and it said 53% of independent workers who call themselves digital nomads are actually 40 or older. I always pictured it as mostly a younger crowd, you know? It totally changed my view of who I'm sharing these co-working spaces with in places like Lisbon or Bali. I guess the stability of remote work is appealing at any age. Has anyone else here been surprised by the age range they've met on the road?

Yeah, the "over 40" part surprised me too until I met so many in Mexico City.

Whoa, that really flips the script. So it's not just a gap year thing. I'm curious, for the folks over 40 doing this, what's the main draw? Is it more about finally having the freedom after the kids are grown, or is it a straight-up career change later in life? The reasons have to be way different than a 25-year-old just starting out.

A travel blog said the same thing about Chiang Mai.
