I finally ditched the coworking day pass in Lisbon and my work output went up, not down
Six months ago I was burning 22 euros a day at a coworking spot in Lisbon because I thought I needed the noise and the desks to focus. Then I switched to a tiny rented room in Alfama with one wobbly table and a window, and my output went from about 4 solid hours a day to 7. The thing nobody says is that the commute, the small talk, and the coffee runs ate way more time than I ever admitted. Has anyone else tracked their real hours after leaving a coworking space, or am I just fooling myself?
Man, I have to disagree on this one! I tried the solo room thing for a few months and my hours tanked because there was nobody around to keep me on track, so I'd drift into laundry and YouTube by noon. Some of us really do need that bit of noise and other humans nearby to stay sharp, and the coffee runs were honestly my best breaks.
