Coworking pass vs cafe hopping, the math surprised me in Medellin
I spent 2 months bouncing between cafes in El Poblado, buying $4 lattes every few hours to justify taking up a table. My internet dropped twice during client calls and the noise got to me after week 3. Then I paid $120 for a monthly desk at a coworking spot near Provenza, and honestly the quiet plus fiber optic made the difference. But I still miss the people-watching and the casual chats with baristas, so I'm wondering, do you all factor in the social side or just the cost and connection when you pick a work spot?
Keeps the costs way down but lonely as hell after a while. I did the cafe thing too and yeah the money adds up fast, like you said, but nobody talks about how weird it feels to go days without saying a real word to another human. Paying for the coworking spot got me the fast wifi and quiet, no question that was worth it for calls. But I still grab lunch at the same little spot near my desk just to chat with the same guy behind the counter, that part keeps me sane. So my answer is yeah, the social side matters, it just doesn't have to come from the place you sit all day.
