A guy in a Chiang Mai cafe said he works 3 hours a day and I thought he was lying
I overheard him telling someone he only does focused work from 7 to 10 AM, then spends the rest of the day exploring. He said he makes the same income as his old 9-to-5 by just cutting out meetings and busywork. For the past month, I've been trying his method, using a strict timer. My output is actually higher, and I've seen more of Mexico City than in the previous six months. Has anyone else made a big shift in their daily schedule that actually stuck?

Honestly, that tracks so hard. Tbh most office jobs are just built around looking busy, not actually doing things. I switched to something similar last year, just blocking out my mornings for deep work and it completely changed my stress levels. The real trick is being ruthless about protecting that time, like turning off your phone and email. Once you get used to it, you realize how much of the day we waste just pretending to work.

Yeah but some jobs you can't just turn off email. Boss needs to reach you.
