Used to keep 500 unread emails then one day I just nuked the whole inbox

I was sitting there last Tuesday staring at a red badge with 487 unread emails and realized I hadn't opened any of them in 3 months. So I hit select all, deleted everything except messages from my boss and my mom, and honestly felt lighter after. Has anyone else just wiped the slate clean like that or do you guys actually read every single one?

Oh I definitely didn't check them first... turns out I accidentally deleted a confirmation for a dentist appointment I'd been waiting months for. Had to call them all flustered like "hey so did I actually schedule something or did I just delete my whole life?
