TIL tagging 3 years of email took 9 hours, not the 20 minutes I promised myself
I sat down last Saturday to finally tag every email in my personal Gmail account, which had around 11,000 messages, and I figured it would take maybe 20 minutes with some filters and bulk selections. Nine hours later I was still hunched over my laptop at 2am, squinting at emails from 2019 about a dentist appointment, because the filters kept missing stuff and I had to drag labels onto messages one at a time. Has anyone found a way to tag old email that doesn't turn into a full day of staring at a screen?
