My phone's auto-backup failed for 3 months straight
Google Photos stopped syncing last June and I didn't notice until October when my phone died. Lost like 400 pictures of my kid's summer - am I the only one who trusts cloud stuff way too much?

My buddy Dave lost an entire road trip from last summer because his phone did that exact same thing. He was showing me pictures of this weird roadside diner shaped like a giant coffee pot and then the screen just went black and never came back on. He tried everything like plugging it into his laptop and even dropping it in rice for two days but nothing worked. The worst part was his phone was the only camera they had since his girlfriend forgot hers at the hotel. He still brings it up every time we go somewhere and it's been almost a year now.
