Had to choose between 90 minutes of email cleanup or 90 minutes of organizing my camera roll last night

I was staring at my phone after dinner, and these two things were both bugging me. My inbox had like 4,000 unread emails going back to 2018, but my camera roll was also a disaster with 12,000 photos of the same cat. I figured the emails would be more practical but the photos felt more personal, you know? I picked the camera roll because I figured I could at least laugh at old memories while deleting blurry screenshots. Three hours later I was still stuck on a folder of 400 pictures from a 2019 beach trip, and I only cleaned out maybe 200 photos total. My inbox still has that same 4,000 count staring me down. Has anyone else gone with the fun declutter over the boring one and totally regretted it?

Have you tried setting a timer for just 10 minutes on emails, lol?

The camera roll is a trap, man, a total siren song of nostalgia and cat pictures. I once sat down to organize mine for "just 20 minutes," ended up three hours deep revisiting 400 photos from a 2016 camping trip where I tried to cook a hot dog over a fire with a stick I found on the ground and it just turned into a black, sad little charcoal log. Now I have like 20,000 photos, my phone storage is crying, and my email inbox is the digital equivalent of a hoarder's garage with a 2015 Groupon offer still sitting there unopened. My wife walked in, saw me scrolling through a blurry picture of my own shoe, and just sighed like she was watching a nature documentary about a dying animal. No regrets, just a slow, humiliating spiral into digital clutter.
