Found a phone jail at my local library and it works better than my app blockers
I stopped by the main branch in Portland last Tuesday to pick up a hold, and they had this wooden box with 12 slots at the front desk. You drop your phone in, set a timer, and a staff member locks it until you come back. I tried it for 45 minutes while reading and my focus was night and day compared to my app timers at home. The physical act of handing it over makes it way easier to ignore. Has anyone else tried a public phone locker or a similar setup?
