Deleted 800 emails in one sitting thanks to a stranger's advice at a coffee shop
Was at Blue Bottle in Brooklyn last month. Guy next to me saw me scrolling through my inbox on my phone. He said "unsubscribe from everything older than 6 months in one click." I spent 20 minutes doing exactly that. Took my inbox from 1,200 down to 400. Has anyone else found a quick filter that just nukes the old clutter?

Whoa hold on, you might regret that. I actually kept ALL my old emails on purpose for like 5 years and it saved me twice when I needed to prove someone said something or find an old receipt. Deleting everything means you lose that paper trail completely.

Oh man Hugo238 I was totally with you until last month. My inbox was at 2,100 emails from like 2017 onward and I kept everything because I was scared of losing a receipt or a contract. But then I realized I couldn't even find anything in all that junk anyway. I spent an afternoon filtering out just the promotional emails older than a year and it was life changing. I kept anything from actual people or companies I do business with and nuked the rest. Now I actually check email instead of it giving me anxiety.
