Why I quit using AI art generators after 6 months

I started messing with Midjourney back in 2022 and it was fun at first. After a few months though I noticed my actual drawing skills were getting rusty since I relied on prompts too much. Went back to my old Wacom tablet and Procreate and the difference is huge. I actually feel like I own my work again instead of just typing words. Has anyone else found that AI tools mess with your creative flow?

It's funny you mention that because I've been noticing this same kind of thing happening everywhere, not just with skills. People get so used to having auto-correct and spell check that they forget how to spell simple words properly. Same with GPS making it so nobody remembers street names anymore. It's like we're trading long-term memory for convenience and it shows up in the weirdest ways. The real question is whether this is actually making us dumber or just changing how we remember things. I guess we won't find out until the internet goes down for a week.
