Watched a guy at the Austin art walk redraw his digital piece live and it ruined my process forever
He was projecting his tablet onto a big screen at the Blue Genie space last Saturday, and every 10 minutes he just wiped the whole canvas and started the layer over. I had been hoarding one file for 3 weeks scared to break it, and watching him kill his own work over and over made me realize I was treating a digital canvas like it was carved in stone. Anyone else flip their whole workflow after seeing someone else work in person?

My buddy Marcus used to paint over half-finished oils at the art co-op on 6th street every Friday just to confuse the regulars, and it drove me nuts until I realized he was just practicing letting go. It's weirdly freeing when you stop acting like every save is a final draft.
