Stumbled on a gallery in Portland that blew me away
I was walking through the Pearl District last weekend and found this tiny gallery called Push/Pull that had a digital art showcase projected on three full walls. The artist used real-time weather data to change the colors and movement of these abstract landscapes, and I stood there for 20 minutes just watching it shift. Has anyone else seen art like that where the data feeds in live, and is it hard to set up for a beginner?

Wait, you watched it for 20 MINUTES? That's intense. I've seen those "live data" pieces before at a tech conference in Seattle and they're usually just boring lines on a screen. But three full walls with shifting landscapes sounds like a WHOLE different level. Setting one up as a beginner would probably be a nightmare though, you'd need to code it all and hook into a weather API which is NOT easy.

...and honestly, @paulw63 I felt a little silly just standing there but it was like watching a living painting. The artist had the colors shift from cool blues to warm oranges as the temperature dropped outside, and the wind data made these ripples flow across the walls like water. Setting one up as a beginner would probably be rough, I tried to code a simple clock display once and ended up with a blinking box that wouldn't stop. But I bet someone could start small with something like a single screen and a free weather API, just to get the feel for it before jumping into a full room setup.
