Spent 45 minutes trying to export a single layer from Procreate because I forgot to rename it
I was working on a character design for a client in Birmingham and wasted nearly an hour hunting for one specific layer hidden under a default 'Layer 7' label. Does anyone else rename their layers obsessively now after one dumb mistake like this?

Oh man, did that hurt to read (because I’ve been there way too many times)? I used to be the opposite of obsessive about naming layers. I’d just slap on “Layer 12” and move on, thinking it was fine because I’d remember what it was. That changed real quick after I spent 20 minutes digging through a six-layer mess of sketches and shading just to find one tiny highlight I’d buried. Now I name everything as I go, like “hair base” or “skin shadow right eye” even if it feels silly. It saves me from that frantic scrolling panic every time.

Nah, unorganized layers are basically a time capsule of your creative process. Letting them pile up with default names forces you to actually look at the image instead of relying on labels, which sometimes helps me spot mistakes I wouldn't catch otherwise. Naming everything upfront feels like over-organization that actually eats time when you could just be drawing.
