Serious question, why do so many people export digital paintings at low res and then wonder why they look soft in the showcase?

I watched a guy in a discord server export at 800px after spending like 40 hours on a piece, then he posted it and got mad when people said it looked blurry. He kept zooming in on his own screen at 200% and going "looks fine to me" which is exactly the problem. Your monitor is lying to you, export at like 3000px and let people zoom in if they want.
