My ink sketch of the Fremont Bridge looked like a kid drew it, then a $15 light pad fixed it in one night
I've been trying to get into digital art for about 4 months and my line work on this Fremont Bridge sketch was all wobbly and uneven no matter how slow I went. My buddy let me borrow his light pad and I traced the sketch again on a clean layer, and the difference hit me as soon as I flipped between the two files. Turns out my hand was steady the whole time, I just couldn't see what I was doing against the screen glare. Two hours of redoing the lines and the before and after side by side looks like two different artists. What's everyone's setup for clean line work, do you trace your own roughs or just push through freehand?
