Messing with blend modes gave my digital painting a weird glow...

I was just playing around and now I can't stop using overlay for everything...

Get hooked on overlay too, it's a real trap. I only fixed my glow problems after trying @the_felix's trick with lower opacity.

50% opacity on overlay layers cuts the glow. I add a hard light layer for sharp highlights after that.

That hard light layer tip is a game changer. My friend Mark was fighting with flat highlights for weeks until he tried @the_felix's method.
