Just compared Procreate to Clip Studio Paint for a portrait commission
I spent about 6 hours on a portrait last week using Clip Studio Paint, fighting with the brush engine the whole time. Then I redid the same piece in Procreate in maybe 4 hours and it came out way cleaner. The brush response on Procreate just feels more natural, like drawing on paper. Has anyone else switched tools and noticed a big time difference like that?

I read somewhere that Procreate was originally built by a guy who wanted it to feel more like a physical sketchbook, and you can really tell. That paper-like response is why I haven't touched Clip Studio in months.

That paper feeling is exactly what got me hooked too. I used to fight with Clip Studio for months trying to get the brush lag to go away, but Procreate just worked right out of the box. What really sold me was turning on the streamline setting and tweaking the pressure curve in the brush settings to match my natural hand movement. Once I did that, it felt like I was drawing on actual paper instead of fighting a screen.
