Is AI art "cheating" if you do all the prompt engineering? 3 years ago I said no...
Three years ago I was totally against any kind of AI art in this group, thought it was lazy garbage. Last month I spent like 40 hours on one piece, tweaking prompts and merging outputs in Photoshop layer by layer... it felt almost like traditional work. But I still get people saying it's not "real" digital art because the machine did the brushwork. So where's the line? If I control every lighting choice and composition but the algorithm renders it, does that count as a showcase piece here? I'd love to hear from folks who've gone back and forth on this, what finally flipped your opinion?
