I swore off simple color palettes until this showcase changed everything
For years, I avoided flat colors in my digital art, thinking they looked amateur. Then I submitted a piece with bold, simple colors to an online showcase, and it got featured. Seeing it displayed so clearly made me realize less can be more. Now I'm kicking myself for all the time I wasted on over-complicated shading.

Hey, remember when Sam tried that flat color style for his webcomic? He was always adding too much texture and got way behind. He switched to just three bold colors per panel to save time, and his page views actually doubled. Said it forced him to make the characters' poses way clearer.

What palette did Sam end up sticking with? I tried a similar limit for some poster art last year and it cuts choices down so fast. You stop fiddling with shades and just focus on if the read is clear. It's surprising how good just a few bold colors can look when you commit.

Honestly, that 'less can be more' idea hits hard. Tbh, @miles_jones39 is right, cutting colors like Sam did forces clearer shapes and saves a ton of time.
