Had a chat with a gallery owner about AI art last weekend
So I was at this small cafe near downtown and ended up talking to this older guy who runs a local gallery. He said he's been getting submissions with obvious AI generation and he can always tell because of the lighting inconsistencies. That stuck with me because I've been messing around with AI tools for backgrounds but now I'm second guessing if it would show in a final piece. Has anyone else had their digital art rejected for looking too AI generated even when it's mostly hand drawn?

Cause yeah, nothing screams "I made this with my soul" quite like perfect lighting in every single corner, right? Guess I'll just go back to drawing my backgrounds with shaky hands and a prayer for good measure.

50 layers of gradient maps and a tutorial on atmospheric perspective later and my stuff still looks flat half the time. @sean_walker45 you're right though, sometimes the messy stuff has more life in it than any polished render.
