Friend said digital art is just "paint by numbers" and I argued back but now I am second guessing

Talking to my buddy Mike at dinner last night, he claimed digital art takes less skill because you can undo mistakes and use auto-brush settings. I got defensive and said it is still about composition and lighting choices, just with different tools. Does having unlimited undo make digital art easier or does it just change the challenge?

Man it's not that deep, just let people make art how they want.

My cousin used to stress about every art piece she made until she just started painting with her fingers in kindergarten style. Now she sells prints of that stuff for like $40 a pop and people love it. Kinda proved to me that overthinking kills the fun.
