Dropped $80 on a premium brush pack and it completely changed my workflow

Have you tried washing the brushes before first use? I mean, a lot of premium brands have that weird coating that can mess up your paint flow until it's gone. Maybe it's just me but I feel like that first wash makes the biggest difference with the higher end packs.

Oh absolutely, my first brush wash usually ends up looking like I'm trying to baptize a dirty paintbrush in a cup of murky coffee, so I probably should have done it sooner! But once that gunk is gone, yeah, it's like a whole new brush.

@jessec39 that's exactly what it looked like for me too. Honestly I never bother washing new brushes and I've never had an issue.
