Appreciation post: my inktober piece got more attention than my finished portfolio

I spent 3 weeks polishing a detailed character portrait for my online gallery and it got maybe 40 views. Then a quick 20 minute ink sketch I posted for Inktober last Tuesday pulled in over 300 likes and a commission request out of nowhere. Has anyone else found that their looser, rougher work connects with people better than the highly finished pieces?
