Am I the only one who thinks digital art lost its charm?

I remember when showcases were about the art, not the number of likes.

Scrolling through my feed today and half the art posts felt like ads for brushes or classes. It reminds me of how my local cafe changed their whole menu to be "instagrammable" instead of just tasting good. @nancy_ellis is onto something with the private account thing, it feels like everything's a performance now. The need to be seen and liked is kinda ruining the simple act of making and sharing stuff for its own sake.

Ugh tell me about it. My feed is just a shopping mall with extra steps now. I miss when people just posted their weird little paintings without trying to sell me the brush they used.

I made a second Instagram just for my close friends to see my finished pieces, it cuts out the noise lol. Try a private folder or even a blog if you miss that feeling.
